The setup of your merchant account is normally
included in the annual fee. However, if customization is required,
an additional fee may result. The annual fee is the cost levied
for using the website software. The size of the annual fee depends
on the volume and dollar amount of your transactions. The per
transaction fee is a fee that is charged per transaction.
How
are chargebacks dealt with?
A chargeback is any payment that is returned
to the registrant by the credit card issuing bank. A chargeback
occurs when a registrant asks his/her card issuing bank to reverse
a payment. The card issuing bank will do the reversal without
question for the registrant. This happens with all MOTO (mail
order, telephone order) merchants due to the fact that a signature
is not available. The registrant usually receives his/her money
back immediately leaving the merchant liable for the amount
of the transaction. When chargebacks occur the merchant is solely
responsible for the return of these funds. A service charge
of $25 occurs for each chargeback.
Can
a hyperlink be placed on an existing web site which will seamlessly
transfer to the merchant's registration page on e-RegisterNow.com?
Yes, each merchant's account has a unique URL
which permits linking from the merchant's own web site to the
e-RegisterNow site.
If
our organization already has a VISA/MC merchant account, do
we need to apply for another one?
Yes. Online transactions which occur over the
internet require a MOTO (mail order telephone order) merchant
account. This type of merchant account is riskier than the accounts
where a customer's signature is present. All internet merchants
must obtain a MOTO merchant account in order to process transactions
over the internet.
Can
Canadian companies collect payments in US dollars?
Yes, any Canadian organization can elect to
collect funds in either US or Canadian dollars. That is, if
the payment was made in the US in US dollars the organization
may have this payment deposited to their US dollar bank account.
Thus, organizations wishing to collect payments in two currencies
need to provide Interware.Net with two void cheques, one for
the Canadian bank account and one for the US bank account.
Can
a US company sign up for the e-RegisterNow service?
Yes, US companies that have a business presence
in Canada may use the e-RegisterNow service.
Can
a company buy the software and run it themselved behind a firewall?
Yes, many companies for security reasons prefer
to have the server and its data on their own premises. In this
configuration the registration process is totally run and housed
on the company's site. An ISDN connection or SSL connection
is necessary in order to pass a credit card transaction onto
Interware.Net Inc. for processing. The e-RegisterNow software
runs under winNT and requires a dedicated server. Interware.Net
Inc. can sell such a server (and firewall if necessary) pre-configured
to run e-RegisterNow. Software updates are obtained from time
to time via our ftp site. The e-RegisterNow software is leased
to you as opposed to purchased.
